Weekend Recap

This past weekend was such a blast. It's been a very stressful month at work, and I was looking forward to spending time with old friends. Jessica, Jim, Robin, Kenny and Nathalia drove up from Dallas on Friday night and met up with Josh, Jana, Kenny, me and Ryan.

First stop, Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Just like the old days. :) My diet got thrown out the window over the course of the next few days.

After dinner, we went back to Josh and Jana's for a bit. I finally got to see her nursery (adorable) and the girls all spent some time trying to feel Harrison kick. At one point I felt his body move along my hand and it was the coolest thing.

Jessica and Jim brought a present with them, since Jess can't make the shower next weekend.

On Saturday morning, I woke up early to stand in line at a new store, "Nothing Bundt Cakes." The first 50 customers got a punch card for free cake for a year. It's actually one "bundtlett" per month, which is a small personal-sized bundt cake that costs $3.99. For a whole year, I will get about $48 worth of free cake. Not bad! It's soooo yummy. I bought a dozen mini bundtinis while I was there to take back to the group. My favorite is the red velvet and the chocolate chocolate chip.

When I got home, we all headed back to Josh and Jana's house. The boys left to go shoot guns on the land in Shawnee, and the girls stayed behind and had a full day of girl talk. We seriously didn't do anything - we went for lunch, and then came back to the house and talked and talked and talked. It was a lot of fun, we covered a wide range of girly subjects. We watched wedding videos and talked about babies and boys, and even googled a natural childbirth (NOT a good idea, we were screaming in horror and trying to look away, but we couldn't not watch!)

The guys came back later that afternoon, and we got ready for a night out at The Mont.

I'm tired of uploading photos, I'll come back and post the Mont ones soon :)

We stayed until around 11pm, and then we were so exhausted. Home by midnight and in bed immediately. Oh, how times have changed.

The work week from hell. I worked until about 8:30pm Friday night, and drank a lot of wine when I was finished.

Saturday, February 11

Sunday, February 12

Breakfast at First Watch with Ryan, then I went to see "The Vow" with Mallory and a few of her friends. It was pretty good, but I think I had it built up too much in my head because I was disappointed with it overall.

Valentine's Day

I'm a big fan of Valentine's Day. Even the years when I didn't have a "Valentine," I still love everything to do with it....chocolate, flowers, PINK and red, hearts, jewelry....it's like the most girly holiday ever. :)

This year Ryan brought me flowers when he got home from work, and then cooked my favorite dish- chicken picatta. For his first attempt ever with the dish, he did a great job. I got him a 90 minute professional massage, and two tickets to the movies. We also exchanged cards, and by pure coincidence his card said that I was his "forever valentine," and I had written in his card that he was my "forever valentine." Awwww. I liked that we were low-key this year and stayed home, it was nice.

Happy Birthday Dash!

Yesterday was Dash's 1st birthday. I had planned to get him a "pupcake" from Cupcakes To Go Go and a little birthday hat, but never got around to it. :( So, he got a rare meal of soft dog food, which he gobbled up.

Some photos from our first week with Dashie...my itty bitty pup is all grown up.
