Tuesday night, Ashlie, Rebecca and I had a girls night and went to see Legally Blonde: The Musical. It was FABULOUS!!!
We had so much fun. We ate dinner first at Bourbon Street, which was delicious. I ordered the Mahi-mahi...I know, I'm eating seafood on a semi-regular basis, which is bizarre. But it seemed like one of the healthiest options, and I had been doing so well with counting calories and working out.
We walked 5 blocks in the cold and in our heels to get to the Civic Center (I hadn't realized how far it was, we were frozen and almost running to make it on time!) Our seats were in the first level of the balcony seating and they were pretty good. I had to strain my eyes a little, but the cast was mic'd up and we could hear everything.
I had a big, stupid grin on my face the whole time. It was the best musical I have ever seen (and the only one, haha!). The songs were so cute, and there was even a real Bruiser (the dog) who was adorable, and knew his lines perfectly. I never wanted it to end.
Now, Beauty and the Beast is coming and I MUST get tickets!

Weekend Getaway
I just spent a glorious much-needed getaway weekend in Dallas with my bestest friend in the whole world and after coming home I felt recharged and really happy.
Friday night I got there kind of late, so we didn't do much....I brought Jenny her bridesmaid dress and drank a bottle of white wine by myself, laughing hysterically when the "tea-length" dress touched the floor after she got it on. There will be serious alterations- hopefully the dress comes out looking a bit more like I had pictured in my head. We looked through the Brides of Oklahoma magazine (because I'm in it!!!!!) and made fun of a lot of color schemes/table setups/cakes, etc.
Saturday we got up and headed to our favorite restaurant of all time- Schlotzsky's!!! After a delicious lunch, we went to the Bux for coffee and then over to Jenny and Tim's church friends' house to talk about owning homes in the neighborhood they lived in. I met the most adorable Poodle/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cross- Lucy. She lay with me most of the visit, curled up in my arms. I want one.
After about an hour, we were supposed to go meet with Barb, the realtor....but she called and said her car was messed up and she needed to reschedule. We were pretty disappointed, and didn't know what to do for the rest of the afternoon. We ended up going back to the apartment and watching Twilight, while Tim made us some vegan rueben sandwiches using avocado instead of corned beef- they were amazing.
Jenny had free tickets to the Studio Movie Grill, and we went to see "It's Complicated." We almost missed the beginning because we were trapped in a stupid traffic jam, but we made it. The movie was really good- we ordered dinner and had great seats. It was a little slow at first, and I didn't really like the ending...so I gave it a B. Jenny was split between a B+ and an A-. FYI.
Sunday was nice and lazy. I thought they were at church all morning so I kept forcing myself to go back to sleep every time I woke up. I finally got out of bed at 11:30 and realized Jenny had been home the whole time. We got ready and went to eat at Cafe Brasil....it was awesome food, and they had a coffee bar! Yum. The plan after that was to go to Borders, but we had seen a preview for "Leap Year" the night before, and decided to go see that instead!
We love movies.
It was a really cute, cliche romance movie and it was perfect for the mood I was in. I said goodbye and reluctantly drove back to OKC, listening to "The Secret Garden" on my new favorite Audiobooks app.
Now it's Monday again, and bootcamp is just a few hours away. I hope Friday comes fast. Thank you for the lovely weekend, J-Pro.

Happy 2010!
Wow....twenty-ten! So crazy. I really like the numbers that make up 2010. Much more than 2011 or the rest of the 20-years.
Our New Years Eve was really fun! Josh and Jana came over at 7 and we started into the mountain of food and appetizers that I had bought. Potatoe skins, mozzerella sticks, sausage, cheese, crackers, chips, grapes...I bought so much food because they said their friends from Stillwater were coming over too, but then they ended up ditching us. Oh well, more for us!
We played Ryan's new board game called "Would You Rather" and it was pretty funny. You get all of these riduculous and hilarious scenarios and you have to decide which you would rather do. Like, "As a man, would you rather have your grandmother's first name or her haircut?" And "Would you rather go through life with no tastebuds or no feeling in your fingertips." We stopped playing halfway through to watch The Hangover, it was even funnier the second time around. We took shots of all kinds of stuff...tequila and Absynthe that we had bought on our cruise to Mexico. Mallory and Patrick showed up around 10pm and the party continued.
The boys decided they were going to taser each other with Jana's taser, so I filmed it with my camcorder. Patrick sucked up a bunch of helium from the balloons before he got tased, so he sounded like an Oompa Loompa being zapped.
At five minutes until midnight, we opened the champagne (I bought this new kind made by Barefoot, it was a little cheaper than the kind I usually buy and just as good!) We counted down from 10 and at exactly midnight...our TV shut off!! We were so mad! I figured out that it was because we set our DVD machine to reset at midnight every night so it can update itself, I never even thought to turn that funtion off. Haha. We popped this huge confetti shooter and my living room has never been messier. Patrick and Mallory left shortly afterwards, and Josh and Jana slept on the couch for a few hours while we went to bed.
The next morning there was stuff EVERYWHERE, but I'm so glad we finally had a New Years party at our house. And the decorations were a hit! :)

Happy New Years Eve! Here's a collection of random thoughts:
Every year this holiday ends up being such a let down. I try not to get too excited about it anymore.
We are having some couples over to the house tonight- Josh & Jana, Patrick & Mallory and Ryan somebody and his girlfriend (Josh invited them). I am going to Party Galaxy after work, as suggested by my bestie, to buy some helium balloons, some festive plates and napkins and some party hats and poppers. Then to the liquor store for the good stuff- Asti champagne!!!
I am a champagne girl, I could swim in a river of it....
We have board games, movies and Wii on the agenda. It should be a good time! One of these years, I WILL get to NYC to celebrate in Times Square. One of my old interns was just here visiting, she moved to NYC and has an apartment a few blocks down from there. She's always telling me to come visit and I might just have to take her up on it. There are a lot of OU alums that moved out there after graduation actually...my old roommate Sarah Lindenberg is still working for CNN and stealing internet and water from the neighbors. Haha!
So I'm not making any resolutions for 2010. I know myself well enough to realize that it's pointless...I never stick with anything for more than a week!
I'm also very excited that 2010 is the year I become Mrs. Andrea Hurst. Wow, that's weird.
When I was in high school, my two best friends and I used to write each other letters on New Years Eve and then we would save them until the following New Years Eve to open them. It only lasted a few years, but it was such a fun tradition that I think of it every time this night rolls around.
There is going to be a blue moon tonight! Which, although I've looked it up, can't remember what that means. Obviously the moon won't be blue, but I think it's supposed to be huge and really bright, and it's super rare for a blue moon on NYE so I think it's cool. I need to go google it again.
See ya in 2010....

The weather outside is frightful!
I woke up this morning to the sound of ice hitting the windows. It's a full-blown ice storm outside! Sleet and snow! I brought my laptop home yesterday so I could work from home this morning, so I'm nice and cozy in my robe in front of the TV. I can't believe we even have to work half the day for Christmas Eve, I'm protesting!
Last night I went to a spray tan secret shop and this morning I look like I just got back from the Bahamas. It was $37 but I get reimbursed, yay! I went to the Red Box too, and last night we watched "Up," it was so cute. Ryan is actually watching it again right now because he fell asleep. I rented "Four Christmases" too, and we need to watch it and return it after lunch today. I don't want to get out in this weather though....maybe I'll just pay the $1 charge, haha.
Merry Christmas Eve!! I love today more than tomorrow. Ryan and I are doing our little gift exchange tonight and letting Bella "open" her stocking. We got her treats and tuna and a new toy. I got Ryan "The Hangover," an iTunes gift card and some Swedish Fish candies. I have no idea what he got me, but we had a $35 limit on presents this year.
Ho ho ho!

Two Christmases Down....
We spent last night with Ryan's Grandpa Don and his dad's side of the family. We ate BBQ, sat around and talked for awhile and then opened presents. His grandpa and Rosetta (Ryan's step-grandma) got me a hot pink spa robe. We made them a gift basket filled with a bunch of things....a notepad, ornament, candies, mason jars filled with ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies and hot cocoa. Then we headed over to Ryan's mom's and exchanged gifts- we made everyone the same thing this year, she loved her gift basket. She gave us both money, yay! I think we're doing our little Christmas on Christmas Eve and then going to Ryan's other grandma's in Shawnee on Friday morning.
We're supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow tonight!! I'm crossing my fingers, it would be great to have a white Christmas. Especially since I'm working from home tomorrow morning :)

I heart NetBride.com!
The bridesmaids dresses have been delivered, and they look AMAZING!!! They are so pretty! I was worried about the quality of the dresses, since I ordered from an internet company. I didn't think they would be authentic Dessy brand. But, they are and we saved money by ordering through them instead of the boutique where I bought my dress.
I can't wait to see the girls try them on!
