Last night after, Liz and I decided to go to a book launch/Tweetup over at Sapphire Club and Lounge.
We got there, and nobody had showed up yet so we crossed the street to have martinis at Micky Mantles. Liz is our new "executive" intern at Crosby-Volmer, she's been here for a month and still doesn't know many people. We both needed a happy hour because this week has been soooo long, even though it's been busy. I have no motivation to work lately.
After we finished our martinis, we headed back over to the party and it was finally hopping. We ordered more drinks, had some snacks and hit up the photo booth in the back. My friend Rob had invited me, and we met up with him and some people he knew. I met Dan Gordon, the son of "Samuel Gordon Jewelers," and the owner of Trichology Salon.
There was a giant screen with a live Twitter feed posting everyone's comments and we spent some time coming up with funny stuff to tweet about.
Later that night, there was a drawing for a diamond from Samuel Gordon. Jessica Merrel- the lady who the party was for (she wrote this book called "Tweet This," it's about using Twitter for business)- walked over to me and said, "Um...this is you, you won!!" And showed me my business card that she had pulled, while handing me a case with a sparkly round diamond in it.
Of course, I started screaming....and Liz started screaming....they took my picture and I had to sign some paperwork. I was amazed and tipsy, and ran around hugging everyone, including the jeweler's son. I texted Ryan that I had just won a diamond and he didn't believe me. Right when we were leaving, Liz found out that she won a $500 gift card to a spa place!! Luck be a lady....
Man, I'm going to have to start playing the lottery. I got home and proved to Ryan that I hadn't been lying, haha. He asked me what I was going to do with it and at first I thought I would use it for his wedding ring. But he said he didn't want me to do that because he wants something plain and simple. So then I thought I would turn it into a necklace. Now I'm wondering if I should try to sell it somewhere and use that money for the wedding or ....our new house?
The house hunt is on, by the way. We're going to start looking this Sunday and I can't wait!

AND ... it's a good thing you blogged today, because I came to your blog with the intention of telling you that you MUST update because even I (the queen of blog neglection) have posted twelve times since your last post. Haha!
Ha! I just blogged again!!!! I'm still going to try and sell my diamond, but only if I can get close to the real value. Otherwise, I'll probably create a necklace!
