Weekend in Tulsa

Last weekend I made the two hour drive north to Tulsa to see Rhiannon...it had been about a year since I had last visited her on her home turf, and that is just way too long.

I got there Saturday around lunch time, so we met up with her brother and his wife, and their new baby Parker at Olive Garden. He is such a doll! He slept the whole time we were there. After hearing lots of great labor stories that made me never want to give birth, we went back over to Rhiannon and Travis' house. They moved there last year, it's right on the border of Tulsa and BA. The rest of the afternoon we watched TV and took turns snuggling with the baby.

Rhiannon and Travis cooked chicken fajitas for dinner, and then her brother and his family went home. It was still early, and we left the house to have some drinks at The Tavern. It was a cool local bar where I was introduced to chocolate cake shots. Omg. The best shot ever, ever, ever.

Travis and our wings!

After way too many chocolate cake shots, we headed home.

The next day, they took me to brunch at a neat place by a lake. I can't remember the name, but they had amazing eggs benedict and a build your own bloody mary bar. Yum!

Rhiannon had finished making my invitations for Jana's baby shower, so I worked on putting those together for a bit, and worked out the details for the rest of the paper things I was ordering from Notably Noted. Then I had to hit the road.

It was a short, but fun weekend. I am so happy I got to see those crazy Lear kids. :)

Don't you just love the feeling of a little newborn curled up on your chest like that? I didn't realize how much til I held Alexis and Josh's new baby all weekend - never wanted to put her down!!
