RIP Michael Jackson
Yesterday is a day I will always remember where I was when I heard the news....so unbelievable shocking, kind of like the day last year when I found out Heath Ledger died. So, so sad.

The Candians Are Loose!
My family is here!!!
My mom, grandma, stepdad, and brother and sister drove all the way down from North Dakota last weekend and arrived in Tahlequah Saturday. Ryan and I met them there, after we woke up and sloooowly got ready to make the long drive down. I was feeling a little sick and tired from the birthday festivities the night before, but we got there not too long after they did.
Dex had bought a ton of luau stuff- leis, parrot figurines, hanging Hawaiian posters and tiki torches and we spent awhile decorating the cabin. It looks hilarious! Then my mom made a 3-hour long Walmart trip to buy groceries and stock up the cabin and Ryan and I sat around talking to everyone. We grilled out that night and had a giant pasta salad...then lounged outside under the car port with some beers. I got to open my presents and my mom and grandma got me this awesome beach bag and makeup bag from Target that I have been dying to buy!! It's huge and gold with a blue inside...and it has sequin goldfish on the outside. We were going to try and watch a movie later, but everyone was exhausted so we went to bed.
We woke up the next day and Dex wanted to take his new sports boat out for a test run. So Ryan and Parker went with him and took the wakeboard and the tubes. My mom, grandma, sister and I went back to Walmart for some stuff she had forgotten and cake mix for my birthday cake. I bought a river swimsuit...which isn't really a swimsuit, it's most like a tank top and shorts. We also ate lunch at Chili's and then came back to the cabin and put in "W." I started making dinner because I really wanted everyone to try these jalepeno and cream cheese stuffed hamburgers that I had made before. Then I ended up making my birthday cake too and we ate tons of food!! I sense a pattern here....
All of the girls are getting to the city tomorrow so we can get my aunt and sister from the airport on Saturday and Sunday, then I'm off for the week to bake in the sun at the lake and be completely lazy!!!!

26 Candles
I celebrated my birthday last Friday night....I sent out a big Evite to tell some friends that I was going to eat dinner at Chelino's in Bricktown and then heading to the new piano bar afterwards. A lot more people responded than I expected! Patrick, Mallory, Rebecca, Pete, Ashlie, Amy, Amy's boyfriend, and Chelsea all showed up for dinner. We sat out on the top deck and drank Mexican beer under the sun. It was so nice...and so hot! The sun was setting and we were all sweating like it was mid-summer. I ordered chicken fajitas, yum! Ashlie and Chelsea had to leave to go work the RedHawks baseball game, so the rest of us finished dinner and went over to the piano bar.
I got in free, woohoo! There was nobody in there yet, so we ordered drinks and sat around chatting. We got a great seat front and center! Josh and Jana showed up, and everyone wrote down song requests on sheets of paper they had at the table. I took them all and dropped them into the fish bowls on top of the two pianos up front where I thought they would go.
Before too long, a guy and a girl took the stage and started the party!! After a few songs, they announced that someone was having a birthday. They asked where "Andrea" was....I was like, OH CRAP. Mallory had written something on her song request. The bar was filling up, and they said they would get to me soon. So I was really nervous, fixing my hair and checking my teeth and putting on lip gloss. Soon...they called me to the stage and made me sit on the piano!!! I told him I would break it. He said I wouldn't, and when I was up there started to sing a really dirty song. I will spare you most of the lyrics, but they went something like "Give me your sixty and I'll give you my nine." And something about a hot dog and a stick. Oh yes.
As if that wasn't enough- after the song when I was jumping down from the piano, he asked if I was here with my husband or boyfriend. I pointed Ryan out and the pianist made him come up on stage. He gave him a piano bar sticker and asked if Ryan wanted to slap it on my front or behind! Ryan chose the latter....and then I had to bend over the piano and they played a quick intro and Ryan spanked me with the sticker.
What a night. We had a lot of laughs and a lot to drink...they had giant fish bowls that they filled with drinks named after famous songs. People kept buying me shots, I had a drink in front of me the entire time! Shea and Christy showed up near the end of the night. We had a little drama with some of the group who had too much to drink, but overall it was one of the best birthdays I think I've ever had! And to think I wasn't going to plan anything this year :)

It's Friday, So Why Do I Feel So Blah?
It's Friday and almost the Memorial Day weekend, so why do I feel like crying? Everything kinda sucks right now. I found out yesterday that the job position I wanted so badly was filled. I got my hair cut off and now I kind of regret it. All of my friends seem to have plans to the long weekend, and once again I'm stuck here because we failed to plan anything. Not that I didn't try....we're broke and Ryan didn't want to drive anywhere. He says he needs to take a couple of days to study anyway. My birthday is in about a week and I don't have plans- I don't think I'll make any either, because it is always so much effort to arrange everything and then people always bail or come up with excuses anyway.
I can't breathe.
I can't breathe.

My Career as a Celebrity Stalker
I called my former intern, Shea to see if she wanted to go with me to Guthrie yesterday to try and find the set of "The Killer in Me." She said yes (I love that girl, she's up for anything!) so we headed out there around 4:00 yesterday.
When we got into town, we stopped for gas and I saw a high school boy filling up. I asked him if he lived in Guthrie, and if he knew where they were shooting the movie. He did! He gave us directions, and we set off that way. It was in a residential neighborhood and when we came to the area where it was, there were road blocks set up for about a 5 block radius. We drove past all of them, and saw security people waving traffic on by. We parked at the edge of the area and decided to just start walking and try and sneak in. We cut across a park lawn and then found a little alley that we decided to go down. I spotted a trailer and when we got near it, we heard people talking through a white fence. We looked, and saw a film crew moving giant lights around. They were setting up outside a big Victorian looking mansion, and there were more crew members sitting on the porch.
We were so excited! We carefully lowered ourselves down into the plants and vines growing next to the fence and were quiet as mice. Still, the crew looked our way a few time and we were worried that they saw us and would kick us out. I whipped out my phone and started posting Twitter updates so my Tweeps could share the excitement. Nothing happened for awhile, but then...we saw a petite woman in a white robe walk toward the house. She went up the stairs and they opened the door for her.
I was giddy! I whispered excitedly to Shea, "That's Jessica Alba! I think that's her! Look! Look!" Shea squinted and said, "No, that looks like Kate Hudson!" I said, "But she has brown hair." Shea said, "So?" I still wasn't sure, but I was convinced that we had seen one of them at least. So mad that I didn't have my camera ready and missed the photo opp! I snapped some shots of the house, the security and the crew. A little while later, we were still hidden in the vegetation and we heard someone off to our side yell, "Quiet on the set!" and then..."rolling!!" COOL!!!
We watched with wide eyes...but nothing happened. They were shooting inside the house, and the windows were all taped up with black paper. We got bored and decided to sneak furthur down the alley, past the trailer so we could see more. At that point, some woman who lived in a house behind the set started up a weed whacker and it was so loud! Three crew members came running our way shouting "Ma'am! Ma'am!" They got her to turn it off, but then one of them came our way. He was friendly and waved and mouthed the word "hi." Then he yelled, "Cut! Thank you!" He told us that we wouldn't be able to see much because they were filming inside, and that they might be in there for 4 or 5 hours. I asked him what his job title was, and he said he was the second assistant director. He said he was supposed to make us leave, and then asked us if we lived in Guthrie. We said no, we were from Oklahoma City. He said that now he would really have to make us leave! We said, no wait! We mean...we're from here, we live just down the street! He laughed and I asked if they would be going out in the city this weekend. He said yes, and told us to hang out at some of the "posh spots" if we wanted to see the stars! We begged him to tell us where they were going, but he said that's all he could tell us.
He walked off and let us stay standing behind the house. The crew on the porch kept looking over, and finally two security guys came over and asked us to walk down out of the alley and stand behind the trailers (where we couldn't see anything). We lingered by one of the trailers and talked up some more of the crew. The security guys came back and asked us to leave again....so we went back to stand behind the trailers and quickly got bored. I gave my card to one of the assistant producers and told him if he wanted to tip us off when they went out, maybe we would take them into the city. Haha! There were several dozen old cars parked right next to the set as we were walking off that looked really cool.
We ate dinner at a cafe in the middle of town, then made the drive home. I was pretty satisfied since we found the set, and were able to hang around so long. Too bad we didn't get a better look at Kate Hudson!

I might be getting a new job...
I had a major job interview today, and it went very well!
On Friday night, the president of the OKC YMCA called and said that he had received my resume and would be flying in on Monday. He asked if I could come in for an interview that morning, because he was short on time and flying back out the next day. I accepted, and then panic set in!
Luckily, Jenny was here to go to the mall with me and help pick out an interview suit (I don't have any now since my old reporting days...I used to buy all kinds of different jackets, but no matching pants since you couldn't see below the news desk, haha!) We went to a few places and then to Dillards. I finally found a nice grey one, with a very pricey sticker....I decided to buy it and return it after the interview. I taped the tags up inside the suit with tape. Don't judge me, I can't afford a $350 suit! It didn't even wrinkle, and nobody suspected a thing today when I brought it back.
Anyway- the interview! The guy was very soft-spoken, and told me a bit about the YMCA and the position. Then he asked me if I had any questions for him. I had done quite a bit of research last night in preparation, so I had my list of questions ready in my head. I kind of felt like I was interviewing him by the time I was done. But he didn't ask me much, he seemed happy to answer my questions and we talked a bit about KTEN and Canada. I couldn't get a good read on him. He told me that he would be back next week, and would let me know either way because they needed to fill the position pretty fast.
Cross your fingers! It would be a huge step up in my career!

HOLY MOLY!!!!
Breaking news....I just found out that Kate Hudson is less than 45 minutes away from me, shooting her new movie with Jessica Alba and Casey Affleck!!!! I am starting to hyperventilate. Don't even think I'm not going to be in Guthrie all this weekend stalking her and trying to see the set. AAAHHHH!!!! Check it out: http://newsok.com/major-movie-begins-filming-in-oklahoma/article/3369823
Kate is my biggest girl crush of ALL TIME!!!! I might have a connection...this movie guy that comes in to our office sometimes to talk to my boss. I just emailed him and he said he had dinner with her a couple years ago, and that he would "try to get her sked." What does that mean?
